In the light of the recent discussion around hardware checksums
(see http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=36198&tstart=0)
would it be meaningful to add a new public property 
to enable/disable hardware checksums?

for comparison, here is one data-point: the bge driver on my XP allows me
to choose the following through the Control panel for "checksum offload":
{none, rx tcp/ip checksum, tx tcp/ip checksum, tx/rx tcp/ip checksum}.
The last one appears to be on by default.
