That'd be just fabulous. From my cursory look at the UV design doc, it 
seems that only temporary configuration (/var/run) is blown away on 
reboot. Persistent configuration (/etc) hangs around, because the system 
cannot tell the difference between, say, DR and permanent removal of 
hardware.
