Okay, so will you fix the code to not check for DL_ETHER specifically?

The callers are i_dladm_set_single_prop() and dladm_get_linkprop(), both
of which have the actual media type of the link.

Yes, I'm suggesting that you pass the media type into pd_set() and
pd_get(). Doing two identical door calls in succession to get values
from a daemon makes no sense to me when we already have the needed values
and can simply pass them in as function parameters.
