Ah, "u" stands for "unknown".  Any reason why we obfuscate this?  We 
could separate this into individual columns like this, no?

SPEED  DUPLEX   PAUSE
1G     unknown  none

As to why the duplex setting for my bge interfaces is "unknown", I have 
no idea.
