I looked at the packages in detail and here is what I came up with:

This package contains things like elfdump, nm, strip etc. Not good
to leave out.
>> SUNWtnfd TNF Developer Components
>> SUNWtnfc TNF Core Components
Useful for debugging crashdumps or running kernel, but maybe
not required for LiveCD.

>> SUNWbnuu Networking UUCP Utilities, (Usr)
Some folks do use uucp. It is one of the basic Unix utilities.
>> SUNWllcr LLC2 driver configuration and startup files
>> SUNWllc LLC2 driver and its initialization programs
Not required, mainly relevant for NetBIOS, SNA etc.
>> SUNWipc Interprocess Communications
Provides the commands ipcs and ipcrm. Useful for developers.
>> SUNWppm Solaris Print Manager
This is used to manage network printers. Does not look
relevant for Slim.
>> SUNWter Terminal Information
This provides the terminfo database. We wouldn't want to leave
this out right ?

Lets leave this out :)
>> SUNWrsmo RSMPI Operations Registration Module
>> SUNWncar Solaris Network Cache and Accelerator (Root)
>> SUNWncau Solaris Network Cache and Accelerator (Usr)
>> SUNWrds Sun Reliable Datagram Sockets
These can be left out.
>> SUNWpppd Solaris PPP Device Drivers
>> SUNWpppdr Solaris PPP configuration files
>> SUNWpppdu Solaris PPP daemon and utilities
>> SUNWpppdt Solaris PPP Tunneling
Leaving out ppp is not a good idea for connectivity options.
>> SUNWarbel Sun IB Arbel HCA driver
>> SUNWaudit AuditService Implementation
Can be left out.
>> SUNWbart Basic Audit Reporting Tool
Built-in functionality similar to tripwire. Will be missed by
security conscious folks if left out.
>> SUNWhermon Sun IB Hermon HCA driver
Not needed.
>> SUNWpppg GNU utilities for PPP
We should include all the ppp stuff.
>> SUNWspnego SPNEGO GSS-API Mechanism
Not required.
>> SUNWtcpd tcpd - access control facility for internet services
>> SUNWxcu6 XCU6 Utilities
People used to locking down their systems will miss tcpd.
The xcu6 packages provides the utilities under /usr/xpg6/bin.
Is it a good idea to leave that out ?
