[cifs-discuss] Strange issue with photo content managers

I am using the newest version of solaris 10 developer edition. I followed
this tutorial
http://developers.sun.com/openstorage/articles/opensolaris_nas.html to
create a NAS. I have been happy with it over all and am getting an average
of 30-40MB/s from a raidz1 pool of three 750 gig drives. I have tried
streaming flac songs and vob movie files using the CIFS service and
everything works fine, also simple browsing with my winXP and Mac machines
works very well. My only issue now is that I cant run my photo content
managers (adobe bridge, Bibble) on my data using a mapped network drive (on
windows and mac). I dont know why but the programs tend to start up
appropriately, using 20MB/s of network transfer, then something crazy
happens and it drops to 0MB/s and the program hangs as well as normally
causing finder/explorer to hang and occasionally brings my system down. Does
anyone have an idea on what is going on here?

These programs are probably trying to open all the files in a given folder
at once and that may be the source of the issue but I am not sure.

2 things I have tried to no avail:
i set
nbmand=on
max_workers=1000

I am really shooting in the dark and have searched a lot but haven't found
anyone else with this problem or with a solution online.

I know that I might not be providing enough information so just tell me if
there is a command I can use to provide some pertinent info. (I haven't
tried this on linux but I can, if necessary, Bibble also works on linux and
I might be able to recreate the problem there while running some command
determining possible problems)

Thanks for any help,
