[companion-discuss] proto tools don't understand !param=value

In the context of the companion CD, I wanted to do something like this in
the prototype file:

    !version=<version string>
    sfw/src/$version/foo.c ...

to make it easier to distinguish changes from one version to the next
(because all the lines won't change). This affects all source packages,
but also many binary packages, since components often install bits in
versioned directories.

Thing is, protocmp doesn't understand the syntax for setting a package
parameter. I haven't looked yet, but it shouldn't be terribly difficult to
add this functionality. Mike (and others), do you think this would be
useful, or would it simply enable functionality we don't really want to
encourage?
