Yes, that is the problem. It will not work with PostgreSQL 8.2 
libraries. The pgsql client libraries of version 8.1 will be required. 
However, libraries of version 8.1 can be used to connect to pgsql 8.2 
server. I discussed this with Zdenek Kotala who is preparing the 8.2 
Postgres packages.
