Hi,

Adding to this point. What is correct for 32bit / 64bit libraries? Should both 32 and 64 bit libraries be built? Should the 32bit library be installed in <path>/lib? What is the rule for 64bit libraries? I have ferrari 4k and the 64bit libraries are located in <path>/amd64. Who's job in the compilation / install process it is to (a) determine where the libraries should go and (b) install them there?

I am having trouble compiling some apps as the 64bit libraries are installed in <path>/lib with 32 bit libraries and when compiling other apps I get ELF 32/64 binary errors.
