If this farm-to-be also hosted various other OS's, this farm might be
viewed by various different communities as a resource to leverage,
rather than a special "task" for supporting Solaris.
Sure, every OSS developer has a machine or two. But how many of them
have a diverse set of processors and OS's?
I presume that virtually any farm has excess cycles, so being able to
host and run test suites on a best effort basis shouldn't be terribly
pricey (other than the extra costs of having "flash" images of
various OS's loaded from time to time).
