shouldn't the new CPPFLAGS settings be -I${ROOT}/opt/sfw/include?

why does LD_LIBRARY_PATH now need /opt/sfw/lib as well as the proto
area (which is wrong too, but I understand for the ccd and won't
worry about that :) what would be in /opt/sfw/lib but not in
the proto area of the latest bits that it needs? or is it just
that it needs something that may not have been built yet, thus
there's a missing dependency for make?
