The web page says this is an MIT license, but the METADATA file
says GPL2. And the COPYING file certainly doesn't look gpl to me.

Interestingly enough the tar file you download from there is named

	giflib-4.1.4.tar.gz

but yours is

	libungif-4.1.4.tar.gz

why the rename? I'd really prefer matching exactly what was
downloaded. It's a lot easier to assert we didn't modify it
if the first thing you see is that we renamed it.
