[companion-integrate] RTI - update of global package to version 5.4

I would like to submit a RTI for an update of the global package to 
version 5.4 on the Companion CD  The webrev is at

The code reviewer for this change has been Paul Cunningham who found no 
issues beyond a typo in the METADATA file which has been fixed.

Details of the changes are:

This is a simple update of the software to the latest version. No issues
were found.  Changes to files were the standard ones needed for a simple 
rebuild with no program functionality changes.

It builds cleanly on SPARC and x86 for Nevada 56.
