From Frank.Hofmann at Sun.COM Wed Jun 28 03:25:10 2006 From: Frank.Hofmann at Sun.COM (Frank Hofmann) Date: Wed, 28 Jun 2006 12:25:10 +0200 (MEST) Subject: [content-discuss] [Q]: How to create a draft article on the genunix.org wiki ? In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Hello, I'm referring to this: http://www.genunix.org/wiki/index.php/How_To_Publish_Articles and my brain is smokin' from the effort to find the magic "Create an Article" button/link... It says anyone can create an article - but how ? I don't want to mess up the Wiki by just editing some random page to have an 'empty' link, and then fill in that empty link with my draft. If that's what I'm supposed to do, fine - but I'd much rather prefer a "Create a new page" option, as shown in the wiki help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Starting_a_new_page So - howto create a new article on genunix.org ? Must be missing something very obvious :( Thanks for help, FrankH. ============================================================================ No good can come from selling your freedom, not for all gold of the world, for the value of this heavenly gift exceeds that of any fortune on earth. ============================================================================ From venky.tv at sun.com Wed Jun 28 04:16:39 2006 From: venky.tv at sun.com (Venky) Date: Wed, 28 Jun 2006 16:46:39 +0530 Subject: [content-discuss] [Q]: How to create a draft article on the genunix.org wiki ? In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <20060628111639.GJ14199@india.sun.com> Yeah, creating a new page is quite confusing in MediaWiki, unless you already have a page to link it from. One option is to create the link from your user page: http://www.genunix.org/wiki/index.php?title=User:Frankho The other is to just type in a URL with the name of the article into your browser, with spaces replaced by underscores. For example: http://www.genunix.org/wiki/index.php/X86_Crash_Dump_Analysis Neither option is very obvious from the docs! I need to put in some more info into the "How To Publish Articles" page.
