From bill at rushmores.net Tue Jul 10 10:17:20 2007 From: bill at rushmores.net (Bill Rushmore) Date: Tue, 10 Jul 2007 13:17:20 -0400 Subject: [content-discuss] VMware Article Update Message-ID: <4693BF20.9030600@rushmores.net> I wanted to give everyone an update on the rewrite I am working on the OpenSolaris on VMware article. I know it has been a long time ago since I first promised I would work on it. Unfortunately, I had some medical issues and I was out of commission for almost month but I am back now. I have just started working on the article now. One thing that I found was that even though VMware now officially supports Solaris 10, the latest build of OpenSolaris still has some issues working on VMware. In a way that is good news because it makes the article more relevant. Once I get a draft out I'll post it to the list. Thanks for working on these updates to your article, I too have a long-delayed article in the works, so no worries. Let me know of any way I can help out with reviews or contacts. I had discussed some content with Eric Lowe who is over at VMware now, so I can ping him if that would be useful. I would particularly be interested in any ESX findings, as well as ZFS testing. (Can ZFS use VMWARE Virtual SCSI Disks to build a z-pool?) I currently have an ESX cluster setup on a pair of 4600s. If there are any individual tests that would require our setup, please feel free to ping me offline. (I don't have a huge amount of time to perform these tests, but can squeeze in a few into our Solaris 10 testing.) --brian P.S. - Vmotion is very cool.... _______________________________________________ > content-discuss mailing list > content-discuss at opensolaris.org > http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/content-discuss > -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
