This is a stop-gap measure for short-term, and I could use your help to improve the content. (Long-term, we'll do a full site audit and usability study for new navigation). Any and all feedback is encouraged and appreciated! Here's the draft: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/website/splash2/ Thanks in advance for your time to review and feedback! I can take comments through next Weds. I'd like to suggest the following: - add a section for user groups and country portals under one of the pages - consider using "participate" instead of "contribute", as the former has a stronger two-way connotation - include pointer(s) to where the user can find information and download the other distributions Congrats again, it looks very good :) thanks Rafael michelle olson wrote: > Hi all, > > As part of my work on the opensolaris website project, we've drafted a > splash page and 4 landing pages to go live in May. I understand. The idea is to introduce opensolaris.com as the place to download the binary and to receive end-user help, with more substantial development issues being directed to opensolaris.org. This splash page is only temporary. I appreciate your perspective and will pass this on the great website project team. > (indiana has not yet been > blessed as the reference opensolaris distribution by the ogb to start > with) > I'd also like to see a link to the genunix wiki somewhere as it seems > like it's a place where the community does a lot of stuff > Good point, another reviewer suggested a aggregated search that might include genunix for those looking to find helpful information. I'll at very least add this to the 'I need help page'. It's a bit disconcerting when you start visiting the links and find they are all part of the Getting Started. I suggest the bullets beneath Getting Started be indented to indicate that they are subsections of that Guide. I'd like to see a link to document sets like admin and developer. The list of links to specific admin topics like ZFS, CIFS, etc. is good, but somewhere there should be a link to docs-index. There is a link in the left-side panel to System Administration Documentation, but it takes you to a rather idiosyncratic and incomplete list of references.
