Agreed. *And* either temp files belong on a tmpfs like /tmp or software
must
have some way of determining whether they are left over from a now-defunct
session (such as a name that reflects the $DISPLAY).
Because sometimes systems will go down ungracefully, and the bits left on
disk must not prevent software from restarting correctly. It shouldn't
be that
hard...
