   Wouldn't you also need the following in xorg.conf ?

   Section "Extensions"
     Option "Composite" "Enable"
   EndSection

   I recently read the Xfce FAQ and adding the above enables compositing
   manager in Xfwm. Nice panel transparency and window shadow effects.
   Though performance drags a bit unless you are using Nvidia cards.
