Hi Lars,
not only does it "Just Work", but the card-reader that's integrated
into my Dell 2407WFP 24" lcd:

      2. Volmgt Node: /vol/dev/aliases/rmdisk1
         Logical Node: /dev/rdsk/c4t0d1p0
         Physical Node: /pci at 0,0/pci108e,534d at 2,1/hub at 1/hub at 1/storage at 1/disk at 0,1
Connected Device: Generic Flash HS-COMBO 4.44
         Device Type: <Unknown>
         Bus: USB
         Size: <Unknown>
         Label: <Unknown>
         Access permissions: <Unknown>
      3. Volmgt Node: /vol/dev/aliases/rmdisk0
         Logical Node: /dev/rdsk/c4t0d0p0
         Physical Node: /pci at 0,0/pci108e,534d at 2,1/hub at 1/hub at 1/storage at 1/disk at 0,0
Connected Device: Generic Flash HS-CF 4.44
         Device Type: <Unknown>
         Bus: USB
         Size: <Unknown>
         Label: <Unknown>
         Access permissions: <Unknown>

and it, too, "Just Works" which was a very pleasantly surprise.

The volume of generic hardware which these days just works
with Solaris is always increasing. I like to think that a
large contributing factor is that the hw manufacturers have
realised they should be sticking to making standards-compliant
products in order to maximise their opportunities. It certainly
has a flow-on benefit for Solaris, GNU/Linux and the *BSD
family!

cheers,
