Yea, I have X1400 on my T60 and vesa works (rather painfully).  But it does display everything...  None of the other ati-related xorg drivers work properly.  

One annoying thing is that, after X server starts and I go back to console mode, the display is bigger than the size of the screen and it blows up the console font really big.
