The articles are indeed focused on GNOME.

However, SuSE Enterprise Desktop provides *both* GNOME and KDE, out of
the box, and the installer does not prefer or suggest one over the
other. The user chooses which one will be the default desktop, and
whether or not the other one will be installed or not.

The OP's message (to which i had replied) hinted at SLED being the
acknowledged benchmark, and at beating the benchmark.

I'm not sure how one can match a benchmark, let alone beat it, without
at least offering equivalent functionality.
