Now that JDS isn't a separate entity any more, do we really need to  
call it anything other than "GNOME", or "[Open]Solaris GNOME"?

All the Linux distros ship GNOME desktops that include many of the  
same non-GNOME applications that Solaris does (Firefox, Thunderbird,  
OpenOffice), but they don't feel the need to think up a fancy name  
for just the desktop bit[1].  It usually just shows up as "GNOME" on  
the login screen Sessions menu.

[1] With the possible exception of SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop,  
which AFAICT they use to refer to the whole shebang, just as Sun  
originally did with the Linux version of JDS.
