To avoid confusion: On "semi-good Xorg-supported systems" like the U60 I mean.

Xorg/XFree86 will - on the other hand - work best on AXi and sb1k/sb2k systems.
Not at all on sf280r/N20_T4 systems (despite it is exactly the same hw as the sb1k/sb2k, but different obp image chosen on every POST, depending on whether a RSC or LOM2+SCC was found or not  ...)

(SUNW branded / OF ready) ATI cards also work on U5/U10 _if_ you direct stdout and stderr to /dev/null (or any arbitrary file).
