  I was wondering why dbus was running from gdm when I made it call gnome-session or Xinitrc.jds directly. After a bit hacking of the dtlogin scripts, it looks like dbus doesnt like /usr/dt/bin/sdt_shell. I added

dtstart_shell="exec /usr/bin/bash --login"

just before last case statement in /usr/dt/bin/Xsession, and now dbus is running upon login.
