Hi,
In my discussion with the Norm, one point that came up is
can we delivered a GTK+ cups backend even though we don't use
CUPS in Solaris by default. But CUPS does available on the
companion CD and blastware.
see http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=16127&tstart=0
and http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=9869&tstart=0
Should the user decide to switch to use cups/ipp [1], the new GTK+
print dialog will make those printing dialog available.
But to build GTK+ CUPS backend requires that at least libcups and its
and its associated header files [2] to be available on the build machine.
This will significantly change the normal build stack for vermillion.
I would like to see what people think? or even some brave souls
want to try this out given that JDS development 53 now has the new GTK+
print dialog available with yelp, evince and gimp :)

[1] Norm told me that ipp and solaris print can soon co-exist :)
[2] Haven't looked into this in great details
