[desktop-discuss] Feature request - idle session termination

Here's a feature we get asked for a lot, particularly in the multi-user
server environment such as Sun Ray:

- The ability to time out and terminate a user session after a certain idle
period

It seems as though this ought to be a standard feature of the
desktop, similar to screen saver idle blank and lock times.  The
default of course should be to disable this feature.  I realize that
http://freshmeat.net/projects/xautolock can accomplish this (although
it could be much improved for multi-user environments due to lack
of scalability arising from polling).  I'm asking whether we can
offer such functionality as part of the standard desktop.
