Do the icons correspond to the entries in Icon field that is in the
/usr/share/applications/openoffice*.desktop files? I'd be surprised if
OpenOffice 2.0 didn't have the right desktop integration for GNOME. Maybe
quickly run the update-desktop-database and update-mime-database tools from
/usr/bin to see if that helps?
