I try to follow the instructions at :

    http://dlc.sun.com/osol/jds/downloads/current/

and I run into some problems.

Installation of <SUNWgnome-display-mgr-root> was suspended
(administration).
No changes were made to the system.
ERROR: Failed to install package SUNWgnome-display-mgr-root
Would you like to continue? [no]: ys^H ^Hes
Installing package SUNWgnome-session

Now that seems to imply that the dtlogin/gdm login process or service needs
to be disable before we do the install.

in any case .. everything seems to install but I don't know about the state
of this one package SUNWgnome-display-mgr-root.

What version should I be seeing ?

I have this :

$ pkginfo -l SUNWgnome-dtlogin-integration
   PKGINST:  SUNWgnome-dtlogin-integration

                   3 executables
                 309 blocks used (approx)

but there is no SUNWgnome-display-mgr-root to be seen anywhere.

$ pkginfo -l SUNWgnome-display-mgr-root
ERROR: information for "SUNWgnome-display-mgr-root" was not found

any suggestions ?

Dennis
