Apologies for the slow response.

Spec files used in opensolaris (JDS, Xfce) are almost the same
as rpm's spec files, so the best and most complete introduction
is the rpm docs.  I would recommend the following:
 - The rpm guide's chapter about spec files:

There are a few additions to the original spec file format
