If I recall correctly, the original rationale was it was the
Desktop System you would want to use to develop and/or run
Java applications, but really it was always a bit of a stretch
and came out of the "Java is our best known brand name, so we
should put it on all Sun products" phase of Sun marketing,
where even our original AMD64 workstations became the
"Sun Java Workstation 1100z".
