[desktop-discuss] Updating userland stuff by hand, and 64bit...

I'm updating various components on my current install. SXCE supplies both 32bit and 64bit variants of all libraries where possible. The complete/default userland of SXCE is 32bit only, though. Anything running 64bit would be my own doing only, right?

What I'm saying is, if I'm compiling newer versions of various libraries, if I don't have or intend to use 64bit applications, can I just skip doing 64bit compiles?
