G'day,
   I am getting the following error from pkg-config on vermillion-7.1.

jdsbuild at prae> pkg-config --list-all | tail -1
Variable 'datarootdir' not defined in '/usr/lib/pkgconfig/gnome-mag-1.0.pc'

It is fixed by swapping the following to lines -

idldir=${datarootdir}/idl/gnome-mag-1.0
datarootdir=${prefix}/share
