Hi,

This is a bug in the underlying device allocation architecture.

http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6486759

It has been fixed and a patch for S10U3 will be available shortly.

HTH,

Stephen.

We would like to connect an external USB storage device and allocate the CDROM plus the USB storage at the same time without conflicts. If I run devfsadm without any external USB device connected RMDISK0 is added to the device allocation manager. When I allocate the CDROM the RMDISK0 will disappear until I de-allocate the CDROM. I connected the external USB storage and allocated RMDISK0 to use the USB storage and the CDROM disappeared.
