Right now, the disc door remains locked while it's mounted. This is the 
same way it's been for many years on Solaris.

There is an RFE to add code to HAL's storage addon to detect eject 
button presses (on drives that support it), which would result in a DBus 
signal emitted, causing the acting volume manager (gnome-volume-manager 
or rmvolmgr) to initiate the equivalent of /usr/bin/eject.
