   I believe this kind of stuff logically belongs to the Companion
   software project  http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/companion/
   so there should be no need to create a separate project. The xfce
   there is quite outdated and needs an upgrade.

   This work will be quite valuable there. Do you have a place to put
   up your modified sources, build scripts etc. so that I can take a
   look ?  We should consolidate all the changes and avoid duplicate
   work. Are you using pkgbuild ?
