[desktop-discuss] Gnome 2.1.6 not starting

I just upgrade my Sun W1100 today from Nevada b52 to b64a. Everything went smoothly, but when I went to log in with Gnome as my window manager, it looked like it was going to start and than kicked me back to the login screen. I got the messages about Flash and the like, but nothing showing nautilis starting or anything like that.

Thinking something was wrong with my ID, I tried it as 'root' and had the same problem. I even deleted all of root's . files and sub-directories, but was still kicked back to the login screen.  

Searching /var/adm/messages showed nothing about gnome. I'm at a loss. I had been using the JDS Gnome since December without a problem, but now I can't get it to start.  Any ideas?
