[desktop-discuss] Gnome and CDE crash snv65

Hi All,

I've been trying to get snv65 x86 installed and am having numerous problems. After the installation the system reboots and comes up to the XDM login. I then try and login and accept the default gnome 2.16 selection. Gnome appears to attempt to start but then fails and the XDM is restarted. Initially I could login with a CDE session but after configuring the automounter and nis I am no longer to login with a CDE session. Only failsafe and command line are working.

Would someone please suggest things to check/verify. There is one service which fails to start, webconsole. I checked the log for this service and it seems to be having a java function but isn't complaining about missing files etc.
