I've created a patch to make the official release of compiz-0.3.6 work
on Solaris. The patch can be found here

Same for me, that's the reason why I've uploaded it on gnome.org :)
I've noticed that for the Source URL : the ~ got changed in %7E and
wget failed because of that.
Why are you using gcc instead of the default compiler ? I've generated
the package with SunStudio without problem. so I removed the export
CC="/usr/sfw/bin/gcc" line.

Nod, I think we need to wait for the Xorg client libs to be available on
Solaris to add them in the repository.
