Hmm... this sounds like one or more bugs.  Please check in bugster.  
I've not got access to the combination of XVR-500 and SB150 (in fact I 
have access to neither) but I tested SUSPEND/RESUME on a SB100 just last 
week without difficulty.

I don't often use it anymore, but it _should_ work.

I doubt strongly its an XVR-500 bug.  Since pfb has been known to 
suspend properly on Tadpole hardware.
