It would be nice, but I think there is more money to be made the other way ;)  Give it all away for free, but charge for some convenience.  

If Microsoft can charge $5 a month for Xbox Live, Sun can charge $5 a month for basic OS tech support, fast update hosting, and continued new features :)  Basically what Ubuntu gives away for free, so Sun would have to beat Linux at its own game!
