No, compiz needs direct access to the graphic buffer. So the vnc session 
via a vns recorder wouldn't work.

You'll need xvidcap http://xvidcap.sourceforge.net/ or something similar 
for that but last time (3 months ago) I tried to run it on solaris it 
crashed
with an X error :/  I didn't investigate further at the time.
So for the moment AFAIK you can't easily do it on Solaris.
