Hi Paul,
thanks for filling the bug (cc'ing also i18n discuss alias).
I think there are 3 usability problems:
-> default combination CTRL+SPACE for enabling/disabling input methods is confusing and many applications use it in different way (e.g. Netbeans, StarOffice-nonbreakable space, etc. ). So what is your opinion regarding to default shortcut? My personal opinion, there is no default shortcut and user should define new one after installation.
-> users are confused with a name 'latin EN' (which has historical background). I think, similar situation is with a name 'keyboard-LANG_NAME' (e.g. keyboard-CZ). Instead of this we should use just name of language or input method e.g. German, English, Japanese, etc. (+keyboard variant in future if applicable)
-> disabling GIMLET by right mouse button click will be also useful (instead of browsing menu)
What is you opinion? Did I miss any other problem mentioned here?
Regards,
Ales
