possibly dumb question, but what am i doing wrong if ./configure + make   is only producing static libraries?  i tried using gcc and the sun compiler, and get the same result

sorry to bump an old thread, but this is the only thread i can find mentioning issues with a possible fix to the rhythmbox crash
