[desktop-discuss] anyone doing automated builds of SFE spec files?

Hey Tom,

I don't have a complete automated build system in the true sense of the
word. But I have a cron job that runs on Saturdays and pulls the SVN
repository, diffs each spec file with the one pulled last week and does a
pkgbuild of all the modified spec files. The first build took more than 2
days to complete on a 2 Ghz Dual core AMD Athlon :-)

The ugly part of the setup is that the packages I've built need to be
repeatedly 'pkgrm'ed and 'pkgadd'ed on the build machine to satisfy
dependencies. If I could lay my hands on a more powerful machine, I could
run the build inside a whole root zone sitting on a ZFS filesystem and
snapshot it before every incremental build.

If Santa Claus is on the mailing list, please get me a x4200 for Christmas
;-)

Cheers,
Ananth
