Just a FYI...

I had some really bizarre issues with LU and gnome where things wouldn't start or would crash, configuration was misbehaving, etc.  I finally tracked it down to an installation of vermillion that was incompatible with SXCE releases I was installing. vermillion had installed incompatible shareable libraries, and plugins that used features unavailable in the SXCE Gnome.  I ended up pkgrm'ing the gnome stuff, cleaning up all the turds left by the vermillion install, and then reinstalling the gnome packages.
