[desktop-discuss] desktop background with compiz fusion

I've installed build 86, and I love the compiz integration; it's really 
well done.  Prior to trying out compiz, I had an application dynamically 
draw to the root window to draw my desktop background, and this worked 
fine.  Now, it doesn't look like compiz will relinquish 
root-window-drawing duties to someone else. :-}  Is this possible?
