Awesome.  It would be nice if Gnome or Compiz (or whatever draws the 
background using the image file provided in the gconf setting) could 
automatically detect that the file has been modified, and automatically 
reload it and redraw the root window.  The APIs are there in Solaris to 
poll for file modifications...
