Hmm.... time to check the basics!

How much 'system' memory/RAM do you have in the Dell D630??

1. Check your BIOS settings and allocated RAM for the Intel IGP (X3100). See if your graphics memory is allocating at least 256MB. Run a good health check on your system RAM as well and make sure that shows up properly under your BIOS settings. 

2. Turn off (disable) Compiz completely.

3. Go to your screensavers and run the 'Hyperspace' screensaver. Let it run for about 5-10 minutes. Any slowdowns, stuttering, glitches, lockups or freezes?

Let us start there and work our way back up. It might be a patch issue overall, but let us at least check the basics.
