We are running NS2 on Solaris 10. It is not very difficult. You can find some tip in Chinese on my wiki at "http://os.cs.tsinghua.edu.cn/mywiki/MoinUsage#head-79ec143d40f5cfa50b6eb2506c1abb6c9416b825". But it can only be accessed in China.
