First - thanks for the reply. I'm nor exactly sure what you mean by "...in the event that your network is not functioning?".  Do you mean if access to the sun web iste to decode the MSG-ID string is unavailable? if so, then - yes. Better to have this info self-contained (I think).

As for retrieving codes using fmdump, I do not have a means to generate (artificial) faults. I do not know how to use fminject if, in fact, this can be used for such. In fact such a means would be most helpful in testing the fault trap gen process in general.
